Aberdeen’s AXV Secures Triple Shortlist at AV Awards 2025

Aberdeen-based audiovisual specialists AXV are celebrating a triple shortlist at the AV Awards 2025, with nominations for:

  • Start-Up of the Year
  • AV Professional of the Year (Adam Wilson)
  • Rising Star (Alex Sherman)

The recognition marks a milestone moment for the company, which in just three years has evolved from a local start-up into a nationally recognised AV provider with a £1.4 million turnover in the past 12 months.

Founder and Managing Director Adam Wilson, shortlisted for AV Professional of the Year for the third consecutive year, said:

“This is an incredible moment for our team. To see both the company and our people recognised on a national stage is something special. It reflects not just individual success, but the collective effort of everyone at AXV who works tirelessly to deliver outstanding results for our clients.”

A Start-up redefining AV

AXV began its journey specialising in event livestreaming and has since expanded to offer LED videowalls, AV installations, event equipment hire, digital signage, and video production.

In just three years, the team has:

  • Delivered projects across energy, government, healthcare, and major events
  • Launched Broadcast by AXV, a secure streaming platform for global audiences
  • Introduced industry-first innovations such as the world’s first 162” touchscreen LED videowall

This rapid growth has earned the company a place on the Start-Up of the Year shortlist.

Leadership & Talent Recognised

Founder and Managing Director Adam Wilson has once again been shortlisted for AV Professional of the Year. Now a finalist for the third consecutive year, Wilson has led the company through its first seven-figure year while expanding its LED videowall inventory, introducing energy-saving solutions for events and growing the business without compromise.

Commercial Director Alex Sherman has been named a finalist for Rising Star, following a rapid progression from Business Development Manager to senior leadership in just over two years. Sherman has spearheaded major installations, championed sustainable technologies such as COB LED, and is leading development of a Carbon Impact Calculator to help clients reduce their environmental footprint.

Looking ahead

The winners of the AV Awards 2025 will be announced in London this November, where the UK’s AV industry will gather to celebrate its top innovators.

“This triple recognition is a proud moment for us,” said Adam Wilson. “It motivates us to keep pushing boundaries in innovation, sustainability, and client service.”
